S. Virgin isles, prepared unincorporated island area with the united states of america, located within eastern end of the Greater Antilles, about 40 kilometers (64 kilometer) east of Puerto Rico, from inside the northeastern Caribbean Sea. The region was geographically area of the Virgin Islands class, that also contains the close neighbor, the British Virgin isles.
The region is composed of three big isles- St. Croix, St. John, and St. Thomas-and about 50 lightweight islets and cays. The main city is Charlotte Amalie, on St. Thomas.
Geologically, with all the Brit Virgin Islands, the U.S. Virgin isles is an extension in the main fault-block hill ranges of Puerto Rico consequently they are thus area of the Greater Antilles.
